Employee Assistance Program

We are pleased to inform you that we have a new Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provider, LifeMatters by Empathia effective July 1, 2014.  Employees and any member of the family, spouse (domestic partner/significant other) or children may request help.  EAP services are strictly confidential as required by law.

Stressful everyday issues can affect both your home life and work productivity. Sometimes these issues can be difficult and overwhelming to handle on your own. The Employee Assistance Program is designed to help faculty, staff, and their household members resolve personal and workplace challenges. The Employee Assistance Program has services and resources available for assisting faculty and staff with their:

Counseling

  • Stress
  • Family difficulties
  • Depression and anxiety
  • Chemical dependency
  • Crisis situations
  • Any other personal or family concern

Work/life resources and referrals for:

  • Child care providers and needs
  • Elder care resources and programs
  • Health and wellness resources

Financial consultation with a certified financial counselor for:

  • Budgeting 
  • Credit report review or correction
  • Information on mortgages, loans, and other financial arrangements
  • Debt management and consolidation
  • College or retirement planning
  • Consumer law
  • Traffic citations
  • Family law
  • Estate Planning
  • Other personal law issues

EAP services are strictly confidential as required by law. The program is available to all university employees and their immediate family members. Face-to-face counseling visits and referrals to life management services are available free of charge.
